1. The Shaniwar wada Fort, Pune

Although popular for its architectural design, this fort has been observed with spooky occurrences. There  is a story behind this palace and a haunting one. A young prince  was brutually murdered a long time ago, but still it has been observed that there have been sounds of shrieking. This place is forbidden to go in night just one caretaker is there. There are many locals who camp there just to hear the boy’s scream. This place is perhaps the most mysterious place in Pune, Maharashtra, India

2.  Kuldhara, Rajasthan

This deserted land in Rajasthan has its own set of stories. An old legend is associated with this place. In the year 1800’s,  people got disappeared all of a sudden without any warning and no idea where. A state minister, Salim Singh fell for daughter of a chieftan. He warned them if it did’nt happen, he would levy huge taxes on them. The villagers also cursed the village if anyone tried to inhabit the land.

3. Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad

Being one of the most biggest films city in the country, this place is home to lot of hotels who have experienced paranormal activity in and around them. Witnesses report the lights kept on top keep falling off, the food left in rooms get scattered around the room and strange mysterious marks are left on the mirror. The voice of knocking doors were heard even though doors were locked from inside. They create havoc. Many preventive measures have been taken but in vain.In case you want to feel the paranormal for yourself, only then go there otherwise not. The light men also were sometimes pushed down the stairs so many times and many had grievious injuries.

4. Dow Hill Kurseong, Darjeeling

This Girls Boarding school looks like a normal school but has in itself some unsolved mysteries in it. This is considered to be one of the most mysteriously haunted place in India. There have been seen ghostsightings in the girl’s washroom. In fact, many woodsmen who visit the forest have reported a headless boy who appears and suddenly disappears into the forest. Legends said that there have been innumerable murders which took place in the forest area

5.  Bengal Swamps- West Bengal (Aleya Ghost Lights)

In this swampy area, Ghost lights have been observed generally by a local fisherman. It may lead to drowning if one follows these lights. These lights have been called as Aleya Lights. Many bodies have washed ashore on these swamps that locals attribute to these Aleya Lights. Some times they confuse the fishermen while sometimes they help them avoid future dangers. These ghosts are in fact souls of fishermen who died fishing

6. National Library, Kolkata

Besides rich collection of books, The national Library is also known for its ghost stories. At the time of its renovation, twelve labours lost their lives in an accident. The stroy of an unnatural death of a student while searching books and lot more.The guards often fear to take up the night shifts. It is also said that the footsteps of the governor’s wife can be still heard.

7.  Sanjay Gandhi National Park, Mumbai

Many people who visit this national park. claim they saw a female hitchhiker who is dressed in all

and is asking for a ride to anyone who passes by. The testimony of the guards working in the national park. who says that ghosts really exists there makes its way too early.

8. Writer’s Building, Kolkata

The new writer’s building is constructed inside the old fort after the first one got demolished by a natural disaster. It is believed that the spirit of captain Simpson of British East India Company who was killed by the Revolutionaries, Binay, Badal and Dinesh, still resides in the building. People reciding in the nearby premises often hear the footsteps and voices after dark. This mysterious place is in Kolkata. Visit this place at your own risk.

9. Malcha Mahal, New Delhi

The mysterious Malcha Mahal is famous among the haunted and mysterious stories in the city of Delhi to be heard.  The palace is situated in forest area near Buddha Garden. Reporters, forest officers all keep a fair distance and think twice before entering into the premises. The warning related to the hound dogs and trespassers being gunned down also scares people off this ground. The government allowed to shoot anyone who seems to be a treat for the property. Since after that, it is a strictly no-go place.

10.  The Lambi Dehar Mines, Mussorie

It is considered one of the most mysterious places in India. The mines were shut after one million workers died coughing blood due to improper mining conditions. Locals there believe that the place has turned home for a witch who walks at the hills at night. Increase in the number of accidents and unusual deaths have also made thisplace ranks among the most spookiest places in the country.

11. Barog Tunnel 33 , Shimla

This tunnel is the longest on Shimla Kalka railway stretch situated next to the Barog Trin Halt. This track has an interesting story. Once there was this railway engineer Captain Barog who failed to complete it, he got fired, mocked and driven to depresion, killed himself in the tunnel. Still today, while in the tunnel, there is a voice of a woman screaming and a man in a ghostly voice asking for matchsticks to light up his cigarette. Many of the people have reported paranormal activities.
